It's Black History Month! You know what that means.. Or do you?

In the past years, society celebrates the efforts and accomplishments of our ancestors, and highlights the energy of the current generation, through social media, broadcasts, events, education, dedication and determination. As we live through the legacies of the past, it is with great honor and distinction that I am here to share in the beauty of of this profound group. The plight we share is deeper than any other in our history of mankind. The unshakable fact remains that the blood running through our veins are equipped with the strength of ancient civilizations,

the thirst of truth,

the pressure of pent up aggression,

the valor of the unforeseeable,

and the natural markings of eternal existence above all else.

As a black millennial women with a Haitian upbringing, living in America, my view is unique. As an individual, I am formed by more than the color of my skin or land of origin. I have found that everything has a spectrum and limiting myself on any of them is dangerous to my health. I'm sure that the other black millennial women who may have Haitian parents have similar ideas to me and we may connect somewhere mentally or physically, but she is an individual with her own set of beliefs and truths. Her own path to walk, as I do my own. Nevertheless I am a living legend over all other labels. Words cannot describe my truth in entirety.

Yet and still, OUR world has multiple ways that it attempts to constrain us in multiple areas over an array of platforms. The federal government currently has the systems of checks and balances from ye old contracts and thinking. We need a refreshing look at the world for us to move in unison and revamp our own checklists to account for marginalization and categorization. Companies can align with the agenda of the biggest sponsor as well as learning to check and balance the relationship between the consumer and producer. The reasoning for this varies. The effects of this varies as well. What is constant, is that our universe is expanding and growing at the speed of light. We are able to communicate with a majority of the world in seconds, with a twiddle of a thumb.

We are also the now generation.

I need you to understand that our deepest ruts are always our biggest break throughs. I have faith in us WORLD!!! I will continue to learn as much as I can to make conscious choices that fall under the principles of utilitarianism, love, light and peace. Staying grateful and in pursuit of being a better person is a great space to be in. I believe that the change from the love of power into the power of the love is upon us. We are the writers of our story holding our past in textbooks. We create and write history sec by sec at light speed. I hope for synergy and continuos success at command. Sharpening my mental tool will take me faster than any physical tool can begin to move. All power formed against me is clearly a reflection of the power of my immediate world which I can choose or can choose against. In making a better world for all to live and all to share, we must continue to strive for the forces which prepare us to coexist in unity, forget divided we fall. Focus anger towards reconstruction and keep hope near to protect us through the valleys.

RANDOM POETRY BREAK:

oh those trenches can scare. Faith is given but love is chosen. Blessed are saints and hardened are the imposers. Hustle is sold but the gift is free. Love the man so the man can love me, is weak thinking. I never had to work for love it was always handed to me freely. Now I see the pattern of chi. Star power alien landed. Living life as i planet out. I'll bounce back to reality after I zone out...

This year, for Black History Month I'm interested in doing research as opposed to consuming all information as truth. Also because I'm in school, I have research projects as it relates to communications studies and human behavior. For the next couple of weeks, I will be conducting a project on Black hair, as it relates specifically to the Black women. Everything on go, every fro shall grow and soul shall glow, all in the name of research! Someway somehow I want to conglomerate as many of my ideas as I can to ensure that I'm making strides in the right direction.

I think thats that the neat thing about research, its always a patient mold.

I have so much more to say, but in due time will tell.
